The
Fork-Master –
Turbo-T
A “must have” if you do any motorcycle suspension work. This
new innovation takes the hassle out of installing the fork tube caps
on your front fork tubes. Whether you are making some internal
changes, changing the fork oil weight, just replacing the old fork
oil, changing springs, or doing work to the caps themselves, this
will make the job of collapsing the fork spring, lining up the
threads & turning the cap at the same time, extremely easy,
instead of a major chore!!
Some of the typical complaints & issues from; Motorcycle Shop
Technicians, Bike Builders, Suspension Shops, Pit Crew personnel,
(especially when in a hurry) & even the person who occasionally
wk on their forks are; the problem of easily “cross-threading”
& ruining the expensive caps, also Fork Cap “Launches” occur
as well many times. It’s also time consuming trying to use the old
method of a socket, extension, & ratchet. It’s many times very
hard to keep everything lined up properly while pressing down so
hard against the spring pressure, while trying to make the ratchet
action work like you want it to, while also trying to be so careful.
This is an “offshoot” of our other Turbo-T`s. The main
differences between this & our regular ½” Dr. Turbo-T is; it
is a fair amount shorter, so when working on the forks while on the
bike, you can easily get your weight over the tool, so pressing down
is easy & not awkward. It has an extension shaft on top w/a knob
the will spin freely. A “Palm” knob is used so that you can
comfortably put as much weight downward as you need to, instead of
having a ball there. It is however slightly wider than the regular
½” drive Turbo-T, & is wide enough to easily put more than
enough torque on it to do the job. It also works great for front
or rear axles as well. The shank & handle are also made of
rugged 5/8” Stainless Steel. The ridged S.S. is also used so it
won’t send that “shock-wave” thru your wrists & hands when
the cap breaks loose. Any fastener that tends not to be
tightened from “stretch” like bolts do, tend to “snap” loose
instead of coming loose more gradually. The tool’s design is such
that it keeps that effect or result to an extreme minimum.
The tool can be used for countless other ways as well. All steel
in the tool is Stainless, even the detent ball, & the special
springs we have made are stainless. The handle ends are radiuses
& polished to make it even safer to use around painted, polished
or plated surfaces. We also put caps on the ends for added
protection from scratching any painted surfaces.
This tool, like all our products is backed by a lifetime
warrantee against any workmanship defects. The warrantee is limited
to the tool itself, & will be repaired or replaced at our
discretion after our evaluation. We cannot warrantee the tool at no
charge if it has been obviously abused, but will still help you take
care of any issues very reasonably. Call or e-mail w/any questions. Info@performance-design.net
